BBC Wants to Bring Brands To Kinect!

The BBC, with help from their partners, wants to get their brands as retail products in the gaming market. Talking to CVG, Executive producer of BBC Worldwide's Digital Entertainment and Games division, Simon Harris, believes that "Kinect makes a huge amount of sense for certain BBC brands" as well as Nintendo's upcoming Wii U console.

"We're very excited to hear what [our partners] plans are in that area and we'll be looking at whether there are really good strategic partnerships on our brands that we can bring to those platforms as well." he added.

With an episodic Doctor Who PC adventure series available and an MMO in the works, as well as Top Gear content and branding in the upcoming Kinect-enabled Forza 4 racing game, taking BBC franchises one step further isn't too hard to imagine. Bringing big brands such as Doctor Who, Luther and Sherlock Holmes to a wider audience via console retail titles and Kinect is a natural next step.
