Kinect 2.0 Detailed

Much of the excitement surrounding the new Xbox can be directly attributed to the next-gen Kinect sensor. Building off what the original Kinect started this takes NUI (natural user interaction) to the next level. From natural speech recognition to more accurate facial recognition and more detailed body motion capture. Kinect has been improved so much it's almost unfair to compare with the original incarnation. In this article let's go over what we know.

The New Xbox Revealed

Kinect Fun Labs Announced - Available Now!

As we previously speculated, Kinect Me, Kinect Bobblehead, Kinect Googly Eyes and more are smaller apps for a new Kinect app store. Kinect Fun Lab is that app store, and will present the latest innovations from the Kinect scene as "gadgets".

Launching with several gadgets, the store introduces a number of new featuring to Kinect, including finger tracking in a new 3D drawing app, and the long-awaited object scanning. Kinect Me will also allow players to scan their body and face to have their likeness rewalised in an Xbox 360 Avatar.

With the Kinect PC SDK launching soon, we look forward to seeing the Fun Lab populated soon.

Kinect Googly Eyes and Tetris Party Challenge Revealed Via Classification Board

Having revealed 3 new Xbox 360 titles last week, Crimson Alliance, Fusion Genesis and Kinect Me, Australia's Classifications Board has today revealed two new Xbox 360 titles -- Kinect Googly Eyes and Tetris Party Challenge.

Again, there is no further information about either title. Tetris Party Challenge is from developer Hudson Soft, who previously released Tetris Party for the Wii and DS to huge critical acclaim.

We can't even begin to guess what Microsoft-produced Kinect Googly Eyes might be. It's a peculiar title for a game, if it even is a game at all, and it joins Kinect Me and Kinect Fun Lab, two other titles which sound like they could be features or services, rather than retail releases.

Googly Eyes is the name of a dropped feature from the Kinect Sports Party Pack DLC. Could this be the rumored secret Rare title in development? Or could these 3 games be the first apps for a to-be-announced Kinect app store?

Just two weeks to wait and we'll know for sure!
