Purchase Xbox One recieve Forza or Titanfall Free

This my friends is why competition is a good thing. Microsoft has seen fit to not only offer the most anticipated Next-gen game, Titanfall, for free but they've also decided to offer a more family friendly option in Forza 5 as well. Both of these fantastic bundles will be available next week for the standard price of an Xbox One at $499. Just in time for the spectacle that will Titanfall's launch.

Skyrim Officially Getting Kinect Support

Remember that video of someone playing Skyrim with voice contros? Well it clearly inspired the people over at Bethesda as the game is to be patched to support Kinect with over 200 voice controls added allowing players to equip magic and weapons, give commands and, of course, do dragon shouts.

The update will be free and available later this month. Bethesda also announced that the first set of additional content including new quests and locations will unveiled soon, exclusively for the Xbox 360. Check out the Skyrim Kinect trailer below!

Kinect Sports Season 2 Gets 9 New Golf Holes

We reported last month that Rare has plans to support Kinect Sports Season 2 with DLC every month until at least Spring next year, kicking off the schedule with 6 new mini-games. Now the December DLC has been revealed in a new teaser trailer for the Maple Lakes Golf pack.

The pack contains 9 new holes totaling 18 in the game, matching a traditional golf course. One of the holes will be free to all players, though a price and date for the remaining 8 is yet to be revealed. Check out the trailer below!

Kinect Sports Season 2 Getting Monthly DLC Starting Today With 6 Free New Modes!

One of the biggest complaints about Kinect Sports Season 2 from fans and critics alike is that it doesn't quite have as much content as the first game. Tracking, improved menu navigation and the addition of full voice control are all welcome additions, and thankfully we don't have to wait long at all to flesh out those menus with more challenges.

Kinect Sports: Season Two - Challenge Pack #1 introduces a new mode for every sport in the game.

· Baseball: Frantic Fielder – Oil up your mitt and get ready for action! “Frantic Fielder” for Baseball gives all new meaning to playing catch. Fielding an endless stream of balls from a lineup of mascots tests everything from hand-eye coordination to speed. The more you catch the harder it gets – three misses and you’re OUT!
· Darts: Smart Shot – Exercise the brain and throwing arm simultaneously with “Smart Shot” for Darts. If hitting the bulls-eye wasn’t challenge enough, try competing against the clock with mathematical puzzles that require a sharp mind and even sharper aim.
· Football: Crazy Kicker – As the star kicker in “Crazy Kicker” for Football, you’ll discover the challenge of making a 40-yard field goal with all eyes watching. Account for factors like distance and wind to line up your shot perfectly and score! The crowd and mascots will cheer you on with every amazing goal.
· Golf: Champion Chip – “Champion Chip” for Golf takes the short game to a new level. Chip shots become increasingly challenging from different surfaces, distances, and with natural obstacles like wind steering the course.
· Skiing: Cool Ringings – Swoosh down the slopes with a license for speed, dodging mascots and ringing the cowbells for extra points in “Cool Ringings” for Skiing. Five different courses help players build their ski legs just in time for ski season.
· Tennis: Rapid Returner – Breaking a sweat is easy with “Rapid Returner” for Tennis, where mascots serve up a variety of zingers at increasing speeds to the forehand, backhand, net and baseline. If you’re looking for the ultimate Tennis training game, grab your racquet for and get ready for action.

Even better is the news that there will be game updates every month from now until Spring 2012 including a whole new sport and with each update including free content. I guess we have nothing to worry about at all when it comes to content for the game!

Download Air Band Now For Free!

The Kinect Fun Labs gadget Air Band which lets you and a friend play virtual instruments that appear on screen overlayed onto Kinect's video stream, is now available for free.

The gadget previously cost 240 Microsoft Points, a price some thought too high for a small app (taking into consideration the price of Xbox Live Indie Games which regularly launch at 80 points)

It's unclear how long the offer will last. Download the gadget now via Kinect Fun Labs on your Xbox 360, or online by clicking here.

The Gunstringer Launching at Reduced Price, Packaged with Fruit Ninja Kinect and Free DLC

We recently brought you news that Twisted Pixels upcoming Kinect puppet shooter, The Gunstringer, will be hitting retail stores rather than Xbox Live Arcade as previously planned. Many worried online that the increase in price might not necessarily result in an increase in gameplay. Well, we can't say for sure how much value you'll get out of The Gunstringer alone until we've played it in full ourselves, but they're certainly working hard to make the game more desirable at a retail price point.

The game will launch on September 13th in the US, Australia and Asia and the 16th in Europe at a discounted price of £29.99 ($40). Not only that, but it will come with a code to download Fruit Ninja Kinect for free, an otherwise 800 point ($10) Live Arcade purchase.

They're also throwing in some free DLC right off the bat making the games' price hike even easier to swallow. "The Wavy Tube Man Chronicles" sees you play the son of The Wavy Tube Man (see left), attempting to save your fathers life via a stolen time machine. Just your average day in the Wild West.

Still not satisfied? Well pre-order now and you'll also get yourself an Avatar prop. Can't say fairer than that, really.

Kinect for Windows SDK Beta Available Now!

As expected, Microsoft have unveiled the Kinect for Windows Software Development Kit, allowing anyone to create software utilizing Kinect on their PC. The current SDK is a non-commercial beta, and can be download by anyone for free here. Check out the full details below!

The Kinect for Windows SDK beta is a programming toolkit for application developers. It enables the academic and enthusiast communities easy access to the capabilities offered by the Microsoft Kinect device connected to computers running the Windows 7 operating system.

The Kinect for Windows SDK beta includes drivers, rich APIs for raw sensor streams and human motion tracking, installation documents, and resource materials. It provides Kinect capabilities to developers who build applications with C++, C#, or Visual Basic by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.

This SDK includes the following features:
  • Raw sensor streams - Access to raw data streams from the depth sensor, color camera sensor, and four-element microphone array enables developers to build upon the low-level streams that are generated by the Kinect sensor.
  • Skeletal tracking - The capability to track the skeleton image of one or two people moving within the Kinect field of view make it easy to create gesture-driven applications.
  • Advanced audio capabilities - Audio processing capabilities include sophisticated acoustic noise suppression and echo cancellation, beam formation to identify the current sound source, and integration with the Windows speech recognition API.
  • Sample code and documentation - The SDK includes more than 100 pages of technical documentation. In addition to built-in help files, the documentation includes detailed walkthroughs for most samples provided with the SDK.
  • Easy installation - The SDK installs quickly, requires no complex configuration, and the complete installer size is less than 100 MB. Developers can get up and running in just a few minutes with a standard standalone Kinect sensor unit (widely available at retail outlets).

Dance Central DLC Sale & New Songs Announced for July

After the announcement of Dance Central 2, Harmonix have been kind of enough to cut the price of all of the DLC for the first game.
